Legal flashing...copper

Bet you didn't know that the new pressure treated lumber does not get along very well with aluminum hangers and flashing. I didn't either until I met these guys. The solution ? Same as it ever was....coppper. Since the new stuff has increased copper to compensate for the reduced arsenic, this is only way to go if you don't want your deck to corrode in a few years.

If they hire us, I might be able to tell this story.

Happy 1st Blog day !!

Well its been a full year since I started this site and its safe to say there have been a lot of things going on in that time. We've packed, sold and moved two houses, found a new house, jobs and schools...I think the second half of 2005 we will take a nap.

But, you never know what the future will hold...it's time to ramble on.

Not sure what they call it, tres cinco ? I always feel like things are more alligned on days like today. 3/3/3 was a good day 4/4/04 was pretty good too.

Chicken or fish ?

when it comes time to go to a wedding, i can never remember what I ordered. I wonder if the kitchen just makes extra of both just in case? I was thinking you could solve this problem by designing a perferated (punch out) piece of paper as part of the invitation that you rip off and it says "chicken" or "Fish" or whatever, could even be the shape of animal. Number the back and tell people that there will be a drawing at the wedding so they remember to bring it with them.

Do you think anyone would pay attention if they started posting these signs in Massachusetts, perhaps it would help to reduce the amount of competition on the roads.

It's amazing the difference you feel driving the minute you cross the Portsmouth bridge into Maine.

GPS Determination of Course and Speed

So a cars spedometer can tell you how fast you are going by understanding the relationship between the tire, some gears and the road, but I was wondering how a GPS can figure speed when the reference point is constantly moving with the vehicle you are trying to measure.

I think I'll have to read this explanation a few times...
